New plu value added to the SalesCategory object in the menus API

The SalesCategory object in the menus API now includes a plu value. The plu value contains the price look-up (PLU) code for the sales category. This value contains an empty string if a PLU code has not been defined for the sales category. PLU codes are commonly used for pricing and inventory management.

You can configure PLU codes for sales categories in Toast Web. The functionality you use to configure PLU codes for sales categories is in limited release.

Like all changes to the menus API, the plu value becomes available in the menu response data after a Toast POS location makes a menus-related change and publishes the new menu, which initiates regeneration of the menus data. For more information, see Menus API returns published data only.

This change applies to both V2 and V3 of the menus API.
